Is Prevention the Cure for Peanut Allergy?

It seems that food allergy cure can be achieved by careful inspection of every meal and all purchased food and some non food items.

However, there is a ray of hope for those who are suffering from peanut allergy. A drug has been possibly developed by American researchers that can prevent severe allergic reactions from peanuts. A study had claimed accordingly which was presented at the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and immunology conference in 2003. It indicated that the drug traps the molecule, which causes the bodies allergic reactions to peanuts.

However, these researches are still in the nascent stage of development.

It is general information to those who are new to peanut allergies or seeing any family member or friend suffering from it – the following list indicates item which has peanut in them as ingredient or trace of it –

Items which should be strictly avoided: Peanuts, peanut by-product items (peanut butter, peanut brittle etc), chocolate bars, healthy/ energy bars, cakes and cookies.

Check the level twice items:  Pastries (if one is not sure about its contents), Sauces (praline sauce, pesto sauce, and Worcestershire sauce),     Marzipan, Gravy and Cereals.

Keep eye items: Shampoo, soap and hand creams.

It must be told and retold that do not rely the level that you read carefully. It is better to get confirmation from the food manufacturer to be sure.

It is certainly frustrating to be inflicted with peanut allergy but one should not stop doing what he should do. The golden rule is prevention is better than cure; that is, simply check and be careful about your food choices.
